한운성 Unsung Han

한운성 작가는 서울대학교 미술대학 회화과 및 동 대학원을 졸업하고 1973년 미 국무부 풀브라이트 장학생으로 필라델피아 타일러미술대학 대학원을 졸업하였습니다. 1982년부터 2012년까지 서울대학교 미술대학 서양화과 교수를 역임하였고, 현재 동 대학 명예교수로 재직하고 있습니다.

그는 제2회 동아미술제, 제3회 서울국제판화비엔날레에서 대상을 비롯 다수의 수상경력을 가지고 있으며 1988년 문교부해외파견교수로 롱비취 캘리포니아 주립대학에서 사진판화를 연구하였고 2003년에는 Asem-Duo 펠로우쉽으로 프랑스 파리1대학에서 프랑스 신구상회화를 연구하였습니다. 한국현대판화가협회장, 공간국제판화비엔날레 운영위원장, 아시아프 심사위원장, 이동훈미술상 심사위원장 등을 역임하였으며 2021년, 2022년에 걸쳐 국립현대미술관, 서울시립미술관, 대구시립미술관, 전북도립미술관등 국공립미술관 여덟 곳에 작품 600여점을 기증하였습니다. 저서로는 『판화세계』, 『환쟁이 송』, 『그림과 현실(장소현 공저)』 등이 있습니다.

Unsung Han was born in Seoul, 1946 and graduated Department of Painting, College of Fine Arts, Seoul National University. He gained MFA degree at the same university in 1972. He was awarded Fullbright Scholarship to the Temple University, Tyler School of Art where he got MFA degree in printmaking major in 1975. Presently he is a professor emeritus at the College of Fine Arts, Seoul National University.

He had taught at the Department of Painting, College of Fine Arts, He was awarded Grand Prize at the 2nd Dong-A Find Arts Festival in 1980 and the 3rd Seoul International Print Biennale in 1981. He studied photo based printmaking at the California State university, Long Beach sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Education in 1988 and research 'Nouvelle Figuration en France' at the Université de Pris 1, Pantheon Sorbonne through AEM-DUO Fellowship. He has donated over 600 works to eight national and public art museums, including National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, Daegu Art Museum, and Jeonbuk Museum of Art, between 2021 and 2022.
